Grenoble is an easy place to get to with an abundance of cheap flights. This makes it a very appealing landing area for a ski holiday. Grenoble-Isère Airport can found forty kilometers to the North West of Grenoble. On average the airport deals with around half a million passengers per year.

Ryanair offer flights to Grenoble from Dublin Airport and Stansted while Easyjet fly from Bristol, Luton, Birmingham and Bristol. Bmibaby plan to offer services to Grenoble from Cardiff, Manchester, Birmingham and East Midlands. As you can see there should be no problem finding a reasonably priced flight form Ireland or the UK as long as you don’t leave it too late to book.

In a continuing series leading up to ski season I am going to blog about various ski resorts so looking at Grenoble the first two I am going to talk about are Tignes and Val d’Isère.

These are both renowned hugely popular resorts. Enjoy over three hundred kilometres of amazing slopes with one hundred lifts onsite. Tignes sits at over two thousand metres high while Val d’Isère is a little under the 2k mark. It should take around two hours to get there in your car hire Grenoble service.

If you are looking for a more natural picturesque setting then Val D’Isere should be your choice however Tignes offer a few more manmade attractions which lead to even more ski thrills. Don’t be put off however if you are a novice because there are plenty of slopes here that are ideal for beginners. In short there is something for everyone at these resorts no matter what skiing level you are at.
