Cherbourg is located in Normandy in the North West of France. Its official name is Cherbourg-Octeville (renamed in the year 2000 after absorbing Octeville).
The nearest airport is Cherbourg-Maupertus Airport however this airport now only deals with charter flights. There was one regular flight to Paris Orly in 2008 which has now been cancelled. If you do intend arriving at this airport there are car hire Cherbourg services available as well as taxis.
