Carcassonne Kangaroo Returns Home

Will the Kangaroo has finally been found by French authorities after running free in the French countryside for the last ten days. The animal was found in a small village called Juillac-le-Coq. He was subdued with a tranquilizer gun.

The owner of the Kangaroo was on holiday at the time of the escape. Will had been spotted by many people upon his travels bounding around without a care in the world according to witnesses.

Last March fifteen kangaroos were allowed free by youths at an Aussie theme park in Carcassonne. A huge search operation was put in place to find the kangaroos including police, firemen and gendarmes.

If you are an art lover, you can visit La Maison du Chevalier, which is said to be the best commercial art gallery you can find at Aude. It has a superb collection of contemporary art including paintings, sculptures and photographs. The gallery is open from Tuesday to Sunday. Then there is the Chateau Comtal, which is a 12th century castle. It was restored before being opened to the public and is situated on the highest part the Cite. If your kids get bored in the mean time, you can take them to Dinosauria. This museum is the only one of its kind in Europe and it displays Dinosaurs only. There are 35 species of dinosaurs on display here and it also has introductory paleontology classes for 6-12 year old children.
